London – Chaos has hit preparations for South African star Zahara and Zimbabwean legend Oliver Mtukudzi’s London and Birmingham Easter shows amid reports of a tickets scandal.
Reputable UK online ticketing firm Ticketmaster distanced themselves from the Tuku/Zahara shows despite earlier claims by the promoters that they would be in charge of ticket sales.
Instead of giving a list of ticket agents, the promoters only gave one phone number which was not being attended to.
One fan said he had been asked to text his details to the number posted on Facebook but nothing happened and the line was no longer being answered. A poorly written Facebook page set up for the show was not updated with any useful information about tickets.
Fans said they feared turning up at the door without tickets as happened at the Tocky Vibes show where British police had to be called to drive away rowdy crowds after the venue became full.
