President Robert Mugabe has blocked the appointment of his relative James Mushore as Harare town clerk because he knows details of his wife Grace Mugabe’s adulterous affairs, Now Daily can exclusively reveal.

Mushore first clashed with Mugabe in 2004 after the NMB Bank co-founder tried to intervene in a dispute between the president and Phillip Chiyangwa, who was then accused of sleeping with Grace Mugabe. Chiyangwa, who shares the Gushungo totem with Mugabe but is not related to him was incarcerated for five months and tortured after the allegations surfaced.

Mushore was forced to flee Zimbabwe by boat across the Kariba dam and spent six years in England after Mugabe threatened him with arrest. He returned in 2010 and it appeared that the dispute was over but Mugabe has apparently reignited it.

Below is Mushore’s business profile adapted from Bloomberg.
