United States Ambassador Harry Thomas exchanges gifts with Bulawayo Mayor Thaba Moyo at the City of Bulawayo Town Hall Tuesday.
New United States ambassador to Zimbabwe Harry K Thomas on Tuesday visited Zimbabwe’s second city Bulawayo and held meetings with civic leaders and activists.
Thomas’s visit came after president Barack Obama said Monday that he would ensure support for Zimbabwean institutions.
“The United States will continue to support Zimbabwean efforts to strengthen institutions, expand economic opportunities, and promote a democratic society and government that serves the needs of all Zimbabweans,” Obama said in a statement to mark Zimbabwe’s independence day.
