Zimbabwe’s largest football team Dynamos has refused to play in the hastily-arranged Independence Cup tournament unless they are paid for previous years’ appearances.
Dynamos chairman Kenny Mubaiwa told journalists that Zimbabwe Football Association had not even had the courtesy of informing the team about a planned fixture with Chicken Inn on Wednesday April 13.
“We have not received any written communication from Zifa but the bottom line is that we are not taking part in the Independence trophy until we are paid for last year’s performance,” Mubaiwa said.
Dynamos sensationally boycotted the Bob 92 tournament citing non-payment for previous appearances.
