Grace Mugabe’s side kick Sarah Mahoka has warned vice president Emmerson Mnangagwa that he risks being killed if he pursues his bid to succeed president Robert Mugabe.
Mahoka told a local daily that the activities of the so-called Lacoste faction of Zanu PF, which is pushing for Mnangagwa to succeed 92 year-old Mugabe and represent the party at the 2018 elections, amounted to ‘disrespect’ for the ailing despot.
“Anofira mahara (Mnangagwa will die for nothing.),” Mahoka said.
Mnangagwa has had four attempts on his life since Mugabe was forced to appoint him his deputy following the dismissal of former vice president Joice Mujuru. He has scoffed at the “daily threats” and said God will keep him alive.
Mahoka’s threats come amid damaging allegations by Mujuru’s Zimbabwe People First movement that Grace Mugabe’s G40 faction was using poison to get rid of opponents.
