Former Zanu PF Mashonaland West province chairman and Hurungwe West MP Temba Mliswa had his passport seized and was ordered not to visit his Karoi farm as part of stringent bail conditions imposed on him on Wednesday.
Mliswa’s lawyer, Msindo Dunira Hungwe said the conditions were too harsh.
“They fear he might interfere with witnesses. We maintain that this does not constitute compelling reasons,” Hungwe said, adding that they would challenge the bail conditions in court on Thursday.
Stammering with rage, Mliswa, however, toned down his comments. He faces a charge of theft of eight AK 47 rifles from a farmer in 2002 and keeping them without a licence.
