Zimbabwe’s ageing dictator Robert Mugabe collapsed in dramatic fashion in front of crowds at Harare airport on Wednesday.
Mugabe fell as he left a podium after addressing hundreds of chanting supporters. The president bumped into a step and fell. Bodyguards rushed to his aid and lifted him up. Some were seen dusting his suit as they swifly hauled him to a waiting limousine.
Mugabe turns 91 on February 21 and is reportedly in poor health.
Journalists who filmed the fall were rounded up by the CIO and ordered to delete the images.
MDC-T spokesman Obert Gutu said the fall showed Mugabe was too old to govern and he should step down.
Mugabe collapsed again last week at state house in Harare.
