MDC politician Job Sikhala left the Avenues Clinic in Harare Sunday after being treated for pains related to torture that he endured at the hands of state security agents, his spokesman said.
“Mr Sikhala is out of hospital and has been taken to a resting place by friends and relatives,” said Morgan Muchawaya. “He is OK but his hypertension is still being monitored. He is in high spirits.”
Sikhala was tortured on Saturday by state agents who accused him of travelling to Swaziland to procure arms of war. He later told journalists that a female state security agent dressed up as a police superitendent had brutalised him in an underground dungeon at Harare central police station.
