The Movement for Democratic Change led by former Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai says it will not take part in national elections until President Robert Mugabe and Zanu PF implement credible electoral reforms.
Tsvangirai told journalists that President Robert Mugabe had already secretly hired Israeli agents to rig the next vote in 2018.
“The MDC national executive was seriously concerned with persistent disputes over elections in the country and resolved not to participate in any elections, including by-elections, unless and until all reforms are implemented,” Tsvangirai told journalists.
He maintained that Mugabe had “stolen” the July 31, 2013 election and said the MDC-T had submitted a detailed dossier on the rigging to all foreign embassies in Zimbabwe.
Tsvangirai said the MDC-T demanded the “implementation of electoral and all other attendant reforms including transparent voters roll that will ensure a free, fair and credible poll, whenever that will be held”.
He also called for “unshackling” of state institutions used to rig by Mugabe.
