Wanted Muleya Tweets Against Mugabe

Police have failed to bring into custody Dumisani Muleya, a
journalist and member of a controversial government commission appointed by under-fire information minister Jonathan Moyo but condemned by president Robert Mugabe.
Police spokesperson Charity Charamba confirmed on Thursday that Muleya was wanted for questioning after the cops visited his office searching for him. She did not state the charges.
Muleya and his employers at the Zimbabwe Independent have not disclosed his location.
He tweeted results of the Spain-Chile match on Friday and made comments that appeared directed at the regime early on Sunday.
“One of the strange things about authoritarian, corrupt and incompetent regimes is that they dont like the full glare of negative publicity,” Muleya said.
Muleya attracted the wrath of fellow journalists when he welcomed the return of Jonathan Moyo as minister in 2013. Moyo subsequently appointed Muleya to a government-led commission to probe operations of the media. President Mugabe ordered the panel disbanded, claiming it was made up of Zanu PF “enemies”. Journalists criticized Muleya for getting too close to Moyo, who is accused of stifling media freedom in the country.
