Tsvangirai Blasts “Gutter” Herald, ZBC

MDC president Morgan Tsvangirai has threatened legal action against The Herald after the paper claimed falsely he sneaked out of the Trauma Centre hospital without paying.
Dismissing Herald and ZBC as the “gutter press”, Tsvangirai’s spokesman Luke Tamborinyoka produced a receipt showing the former Prime Minister’s bill of $4 300 was paid within an hour of the opposition leader leaving the Trauma Centre in Belgravia.
MDC acting deputy treasurer Theresa Makone said the bill could not be paid more promptly because when she was informed of the matter she was at her family’s farm in Goromonzi and had to drive to Harare.
Makone insisted Tsvangirai had used the VIP exit in the company of senior hospital staff, contrary to Herald reporter Mabasa Sasa’s claims that he was ‘broke’ and sneaked out through the laundry.
MDC former deputy information minister Jameson Timba condemned the Trauma Centre staff for allegedly leaking client information and endangering their security.
