Happison Muchechetere Refuses to Leave ZBC

By Harry Fisher|
Zimbabwe Broadcasting Holdings chief executive Happison Muchechetere has refused to relinquish his post at the troubled national broadcaster, Now Daily can reveal.
The move to sack Muchechetere was directed by controversial broadcasting minister Jonathan Moyo, who also dissolved the ZBC board on Wednesday.
Moyo said his two-week deadline for the board to come up with a viable development plan had expired with no tangible outcome and ordered Muchechetere to go home “on full pay until further notice”.
Muchechetere responded:
“I fought for this country to enjoy milk and honey. Johno can not push me out. Enda iwe (I will not resign. Leave your own post, Jonathan Moyo.).” Muchechetere allegedly posted the rejoinder on social networks, also invoking his Chimurenga name, Harry Tanganeropa.
