Zanu PF is stoking the fires of a new diplomatic rift with the United Kingdom, claiming its officials and artists are getting a raw deal. Party deputy spokesman Psychology Maziwisa on Tuesday lashed out at the British authorities, citing the case of Zanu PF-related singers Suluman Chimbetu and Jah Prayzer, who were barred from entering the UK for weekend shows. Maziwisa said: “By arbitrarily revoking Jah Prayzer and Suluman Chimbetu’s visas to the UK on spurious grounds last week, the UK Embassy (which acts on behalf of the British government) acted unprofessionally and demonstrated yet again that it lacks the will and the desire to mend broken relations with Harare.” The artistes visa applications were processed by an agent with an expired licence, according to reports. There was no immediate response from the British government.
