A magistrate on Tuesday denied MDC-T presidential candidate Morgan Tsvangirai’s chief election agent Morgan Komichi bail.
Magistrate Anita Tshuma claimed the pro-Mugabe police wanted more time for investigations.
She also claimed Komichi, the deputy minister of transport, might abscond or interfere with witnesses. This was rejected by the defence, led by lawyer Tarisai Mutangi. An urgent High Court application was expected.
Komichi was arrested after reporting the dumping in a bin at ZEC of ballots cast in favour of Tsvangirai during the special vote.
