Authoritative Zanu PF whistleblower Baba Jukwa claims that cabinet minister Saviour Kasukuwere was behind the suspected arson attack that damaged Reserve Bank governor Gideon Gono’s farm on Thursday.
The faceless blogger who uses the code name Baba Jukwa had warned repeatedly that Gono faced imminent threats before Thursday’s mystery fire at his state-of-the-art chicken farm along Murewa Road. Damage to live birds, equipment and pasture was estimated at $30 000 and Gono’s employees said they had told the police they suspected foul play, although they did not name anyone in connection with the crime, the second such attack in as many years.
“As I was warning Gideon Gono about the impending danger, little did I know that Saviour Kasukuwere was already on him. He dispatched Fidelis Fengu and his team to go and burn down GG’s chickens to ashes. They wanted to hit where it hurts the most,” Baba Jukwa wrote hours after the attack.
Baba Jukwa warned Gono to go outside the country, claiming his enemies in Zanu PF wanted to kill him.
“Their real intention is to kill him and as I tipped GG a few weeks ago he must run away and stay somewhere outside the country until the tension has subsided because Kasukuwere is meaning serious business. He wants to see GG dead by all means necessary,” said Baba Jukwa.
Kasukuwere could not be reached for comment. However, he has clashed publicly with Gono over Zanu PF’s failed attempts to take over foreign banks. Kasukuwere accused Gono of stifling the programme.
